Modern Style Meets Modern Innovation

Choosing materials for your next bathroom renovation is all about balance.

This bathroom is not just beautiful to look at, it’s built with quality products that are low maintenance and will stand the test of time. Everyone loves gorgeous tile, quartz counters and glass showers, but what really takes a bathroom renovation to the next level is what lies behind all those fancy fixtures – and this bathroom is built to last!

What is Wedi Board?

Wedi board is basically a stiff, rigid foamboard that makes a great, stable base for all types of tile. It can be used anywhere in your home and we recommend it because it’s:

  • 100% waterproof. Not many building materials can make that claim (and with unpredictable Alberta weather, anytime you can waterproof your home you should take it!),
  • An extra layer of protection from mould and fungi,
  • Heat insulating which will save you money on energy costs, and
  • Lightweight.

Even though we love using quality building materials, that doesn’t mean we don’t still get excited about making it gorgeous afterward. Check out that quartz ledge! Our friends at Gio Industries installed this for us to match the countertop in “Landscape Quartz”. We finished this shower off with chrome plumbing fixtures and glass doors.

We used Wedi board for the shower walls and pan.

This vanity was custom built in our Edmonton Shop. We used prefinished birch, custom fronts and chrome hardware to complete the look.

Lastly, we installed ceramic tile for the floor. We love tile, but a huge drawback (especially in this climate) is that it is COLD to the touch; however, that is a non-issue in this bathroom because we installed in-floor heating!  😉

Stay tuned! We just finished the kitchen in this home as well and we’ll post it soon.
